Medway Money Pit is a reasonably small but very active Share Club that was established in the year 2000 and remains operational today.
The club has seen the market fall following the technology boom and 2008 financial crisis and also experienced some spectacular gains too. Current market turbulence stemming from UK BREXIT, international Trade Tariffs and the rise of 'populism' in politics is providing an interesting environment for the club.
Currently meeting every month and active in buying & selling shares on the UK exchange, the club tends to focus on the FTSE250 and, more recently, the AIM market where recent experience has found the best performance. Meetings, which are friendly and informal, are held at the Thurrock Hotel, close to Lakeside in Essex.
Rules & Regulations are run along PROSHARE guidelines, we currently use X-O (Jarvis Investment Management as our broker and Barclays is the clubs’ bank.
At November 2019 we had 13 members and the club’s portfolio stood at 34 shares.
