Welcome

Medway Money Pit is a reasonably small but very active Share Club that was established in the year 2000 and remains operational today.

The club has seen the market fall following the technology boom and 2008 financial crisis and experienced some spectacular gains too. The club has been through market turbulence stemming from UK BREXIT, international Trade Tariffs, 'populism' in politics, COVID-19 and, most recently, the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Currently meeting online every month and active in buying & selling shares on the UK exchange, the club tends to focus on the FTSE250 and, more recently, the Investment Trust market where recent experience has found a more reliable performance.  Prior to the outbreak of Coronavirus our meetings, which are friendly and informal, were held at the Thurrock Hotel, close to Lakeside in Essex. However since the lockdown, meetings have been held online.

Rules & Regulations  are run along PROSHARE guidelines, we currently use X-O (Jarvis Investment Management as our broker and Barclays is the clubs’ bank.

Worried that you don't know anything about buying and selling shares?  Don't be!

No financial or investment knowledge is needed, just an interest in share dealing and the markets.  Some club members have gained considerable knowledge over the years but most of us started knowing very little. Members are from all backgrounds and you will see from our membership page that subs are very modest.
At May 2021 we had 13 members and the club’s portfolio stood at 45 shares.

If you are interested in joining us or would simply like to come along to a meeting to see what we do, please contact us directly here.
